Every year the stray cat population in Sydney expands a lot and this year has confirmed that yet again.

We currently have 60 cats and kittens in care. We thought we were full enough and then came along a very sick litter of three little kittens who have cat flu resulting in some very damaged eyes, and they have ringwom too. Ray needs one eye out, Val needs one eye out and we are not sure if we can save her other eye, but we are trying. And tiny Penelope has almost no fur left on her tummy thanks to ringworm. Carer Emely is very diligent and the kittens are being fed lots of great quality raw and canned food with added Enysil F to boost their immune systems.

Emely was contacted by a lady who saw a stray kitten with half a leg missing. With guidance from Em this lady has trapped all the kittens herself and is now fostering them for us. Emely has ensured mum has been desexed. In two weeks Stumpy will have the remaining part of the leg amputated. She is currently walking on the stump and that is a big no no as it can cause a lot of permanent damage.

We have 7 kittens who were bottle fed by two carers and are all going well. Sam had hers from one day old and sadly did lose two of the siblings, but did a remarkable job getting 2 through. The other 5 are with vet nurse Kim who had also done a wonderful job. These babies initially need bottle feeding every 2 hours around the clock and that is a huge commitment. Well done ladies.

We have four friendly mums and their babies on board. All found as strays. Clearly they were owned, not desexed and booted out when pregnant.

And the list goes on.

Because we are rehoming through five PETstock stores: Balgowlah, Belrose, Broadway, Dural and Mona Vale, we have great rehoming ability now. The adoption fee is $250 per cat/kitten, but this doesn’t even cover half the cost of caring for these babies and their vetwork. We have now rehomed 148 cats and kittens via PETstock.

Our only sources of income is adoption fees and donations so we are very reliant on the community to support our work. Regular monthly donations are our stable income source that allows us to plan.

MONTHLY DONATION Regular monthly donations help support our work and enable us to keep rescuing,

SINGLE DONATION and one off donations help us buy food, treatments and pay some of our vet bills.
