CatRescue 901 is a small team of volunteers who are dedicated to helping cats in need in pounds and the community. We do not receive any funding and are only able to continue our vital rescue work thanks to the generosity of the community. Donations over $2 are tax deductible. Thank you for your support.
We saved Tom from the streets in Newcastle three years ago. This clever boy walked up to one of our carers with a badly ruptured eye. His family had completely abandoned him a number of years earlier. They hadn’t even moved; they just stopped caring for him.
Tom joined the CatRescue family, had his surgery, tested positive for FIV and did his isolation time before going to one of our very special carers, Michelle.
Tom was adopted by Mark and Celine two years ago who invited Jenny and Michelle for dinner with him last night. It is truly amazing to see where Tom is today compared to three years ago. As with the majority of FIV positive cats, Tom is the picture of good health. He is fed a diet that keeps his teeth clean and glowing. He is 11 years old now.
A huge thanks to the big hearts and souls of everyone here who forms a small piece of the puzzle that makes such a huge difference to the life of a desperate cat.
